Brother

No one knew
his name
to write
the email:
his brother
died.

It was sudden.
Morning.
Tinkering.
Then dead.

The email went out:
“his brother”
“passed”
“thoughts”
“condolences.”

But I know
him.
And his
brother,
Mike.

In The Box

Tail wrapped
‘round tight
pulling in
the whole
of me.

Oh, comfort.

I’ll rest
as snug
as bug
in rug.

For now.

Playa Combate

The clear blue
sea shell shore
moved further
from sight
as the boat rose
and fell violently
in the waves
throwing the sea
against
my wintry skin
peeling it off
replacing it
with a salt coat.
